BabyBam Collection is a new “green” clothing company offering eco-friendly and organic natural bamboo baby clothing, hooded bath towels and unique bamboo baby skin care products. Their motto …dream, believe, giggle… is exactly what I’d be doing if I was snuggled into one of their incredibly soft footie pajamas.

All products are made from bamboo for infants 0 to 9 months and are naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, odor free, and made with no harmful dyes, chemicals or pesticides.  Even the “Little Lathers” baby soap is 100% natural and handmade with bamboo powder.  All of the BabyBam apparel is natural in color, using no bleaches or dyes, and the silkscreens and tagless tags use low impact dye.

Bamboo is thermal regulating, which is important since babies have a hard time regulating body temperature when first born.  It will keep baby warmer than cotton in cool weather and two to three degrees cooler than cotton in hot weather.  Bamboo also wicks moisture away and has double the absorbency of cotton,Because Bamboo is a grass that grows like a weed, it is the fastest growing plant on the planet today.  It can grow up to three feet in one day! This means Bamboo is the alternative to wide spread clear cutting of the forests, and the most sustainable textile material available on the market. It doesn’t need help from pesticides or insecticides and usually grows on rain water alone.

And as far as it looks… Bamboo looks like expensive Pima or Egyptian cotton and drapes like silk.  It has less shrinkage than cotton and does not pill.  It has been described as feeling like pure cashmere.

Founded by mom of two Jody Graziano Jonas, BabyBam Collection is the kind of company we really like to get behind.  As part of her environmentally responsible policies, she packages all of the BabyBam products in recycled, re-used, or recyclable packaging – everything from the tissue paper to the ribbon to the box it is shipped in.  In addition, BabyBam regularly makes contributions to The Arbor Day Foundation and the Sierra Club. Love it!
